Refrigerator cars

RC2000 ATSF 'map' refer at the ice house

We offer three versions of refrigerator cars, the R R 27 Series Santa Fe 'Map' refrigerator car built in the 1920s and rebuilt in the 1940s, the R-40-20 PFE SP/UP and the R-40-23 PFE SP/UP double herald refrigerator cars built in 1945 and 1947.

Like the box cars, these are fully engineered for durability; the unique one-piece body 'floats' on the sturdy underframe providing excellent stability and strength even under fluctuating environmental conditions. The body is made from polyurethane castings, and the underframe is a combination of steel tubing and cast zinc bolsters.
