Gondolas

We offer three different gondolas, a 40' USRA 50-ton drop bottom composite gondola, a 40' GB class solid bottom steel gondola, and a 50' 70-ton mill type gondola. All can be used for riding.

GC2000 50' mill gondola

The 40' composite gondola is constructed with a body made from polyurethane castings, and an underframe that is a combination of steel tubing and zinc casting.

The 40' steel gondola is constructed of welded 20 gauge steel sides, bottom, and ribs, and steel tube center sill, cast zinc bolsters, and cast aluminum ends.

The 50' mill gondola is constructed of welded sand cast aluminum.

The body comes primed, or painted and lettered in your choice of roadname with a historically correct number unique to your car. Operative couplers and draft gear, ladders, grab irons, stirrups, brake wheel, retainer valve, glad hands, angle cocks, cut levers, and additional components as appropriate are included.
