Box Cars

BC1100 40' boxcar 8' door, Beginner Kit version - $960

We offer AAR metal sheathed box cars of the post World War II era, featuring improved dreadnought ends, modular diagonal roof panels, and Youngstown corrugated doors.

Fully engineered for durability, the unique one-piece body 'floats' on the sturdy underframe providing excellent stability and strength even under fluctuating environmental conditions. The body is made from polyurethane castings, and the underframe is a combination of steel tubing and cast zinc bolsters.

The body comes primed, or painted and lettered in your choice of roadname with a historically correct number unique to your car. Operative couplers and draft gear, grab irons, ladders, roof walks, door hardware, Ajax brake wheel, retainer valve, glad hands, angle cocks, cut levers, and three piece AB brake castings are included.

Due to the level of finish detail, this car is not intended for use as a riding car.
